  • Here at the Sci’anew Langauge Association we are wholly independent Non Profit and use fundraiser, grants and contributions from the greater community to ensure we can engage participants.

    Althugh the SKLA is entering its 2nd year hosting language classes, this effort took 9 decades and several family members along the way to preserve the language before it eventually became a “sleeping Language”.

    This journey has been since the original ban by the federal government in their efforts to assimilate the Indigenous Population.

    The efforts to bring back the Klallam Langauge to Sci’anew are too many to discuss here, but please send us an email and ask about us and our connection to these lands and efforts to reclaim our past.
